While thinking about the future of our daughters' education we realised that there were few facilities for quality private tuition with which we were likely to be completely satisfied and to which we could send them to in the future. This is why we initially decided to set up 'My Child's Education'. Our initial aim was to set up a single-sex private tuition class for girls of secondary school age. However, over time demand from parents led to us expanding to accommodate girls of primary school age.

I myself have high expectations of both tutors and students, having received a high quality education myself as a student and having achieved straight A/A*'s in my GCSEs and A/B grades at A-level before going on to University to study Medicine. I have both received private tuition myself and also tutored children in the past. These experiences, in addition to my excellent school experience at King Edward's School, Birmingham in the 1990's have given me an insight into what is required for success.

We run this organisation as efficiently as we can and do our best to put quality of tuition above profits for our tutors/manager. Shahina and I do not make any profit from the venture ourselves. Our role is primarily to oversee that it is run efficiently and to a high standard by our manager and tutors. This means maintaining a low student to tutor ratio and good pay for quality tutors. We feel that many other classes compromise on these two factors in order to maximise profits for their owners.
