Information for Tutors

If you are a potential tutor and are interested in tutoring small groups of students for 3 hours regularly on a Sunday morning, then please complete the Tutor Application Form and/or send a copy of your CV by email for our immediate consideration.

Role

Tutors will be expected to help assess new students and give some feedback on the suitability of their joining the class.

Teamwork

Tutors will need good teamwork skills in order to ensure that their students receive the maximum benefit from their time at the session. It is important to bear in mind that a number of students from different age groups may be studying different subjects on any given morning.

Feedback

Feedback will be sought from students, parents and tutors in order to improve the quality of tuition given. The feedback and responses will be communicated to tutors.

Fees

The rate of fees for most tutors (graduates & undergraduates) will be as described on the 'Tutor Application' page (depending on experience and subjects/levels taught). We try to add a bonus to tutors' pay on a week-by-week basis depending on the number of students in attendance each week.

Notice

It would be appreciated if tutors would give 2 weeks worth of advanced notice prior to resigning from their position so that a replacement tutor can be found. The same amount of notice will be given as a minimum, if for any reason the requirement of your service were to cease.

CRB & References

We request that tutors provide a photocopy of a recent CRB certificate. We can apply for CRB disclosures on tutors' behalf if required.
